For as long as I can remember my passion has been to provide the highest quality Physiotherapy based healthcare service, to help people in our community. I love to see people that we have helped, recover from pain and injuries, regain their confidence, their mobility and their general fitness. To see people realise how great it is to live their ‘normal lives’ without the incumbrance of pain and for some, to be able to live their dreams.
Having lived life to the full with my family and friends, enjoying riding, skiing, cycling, kayaking and walking to name a few, I too have picked up my fair share of injuries along the way. As a result, I have personal experience of what it is like to loose ones ability to do basic activities, that we all take for granted and then to go through the process of treatment, recovery and rehabilitation. Whilst building up Tavistock Physiotherapy clinic, these experiences and those of close family and friends have helped me realise what services and treatments we need to provide for our community.
Each personal and family injury has increased both my depth of knowledge and how the experience affects one’s life. Researching the latest and best care for each problem, over the years I have developed treatment and rehab plans for all sorts of conditions, including: Back pain, Sacro iliac (SI) joint issues, Sciatica, ACL and PCL (anterior and posterior cruciate ligament), Knee rehab, Hip arthritis and hip replacement (not me). Ankle ligament instability, Neck pain and whiplash injury, (concussion… but I don’t remember that!), Tennis elbow, De quervains wrist pain, Rib and chest pain, and more recently with my poor Dad, Parkinsons and MSA. Then with the gift of motherhood came the trials and tribulations of pelvic floor issues! We sound like a ‘broken family’, but actually I think we’re just a good example of what issues and injuries people experience.
My ‘tool kit’ of physiotherapy skills are many, learned over more than 30 years of clinical experience, training programmes and having been lucky enough to have worked alongside some wonderful people.
Recently I have become confident with online zoom Pilates classes and realised how much people can benefit through this medium. As a result, I have put together a ‘Womens Health’ online 12 week Pelvic floor Masterclass, where I share information that I have found useful, specific exercise techniques and rehab, whilst trying to demystify and open up this stubbornly taboo subject, that adversely affects so many women (and men).

Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist 20 years ago I have worked both in the UK and in France. My main sphere of interest is in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and my experience has been gained from both working in the NHS and within private practice.
I use gentle manual therapy techniques with my clinical practice as and when required. I am a qualified Pilates Instructor and have incorporated aspects of this within my rehabilitation programs. I have taught private Pilates classes for the last 15 years.
During my spare time, if not out and about with my family or repairing something around the house, I will be found off-road mountain biking.

I have over 18 years of physio experience, having worked in Australia, the USA, Nepal, and the UK. Since completing my training in Brisbane, Australia, I have gained a wealth of experience in a range of physical therapies, including all aspects of musculoskeletal manual therapy, acupuncture, Core stability and Pilates type exercise therapy.
I have a special interest in working in partnership with overweight & obese clients, enabling them to overcome their barriers to being more active. I am currently part of the Plymouth NHS Weight Management Team.
My most challenging job is as a Mother of two energetic youngsters. I am a great outdoor enthusiast, & one of my greatest experiences has been trekking to Everest Base Camp. My husband frequently takes part in Mountain marathons & adventure races, and as back up crew to these events I often finds myself Physio for any sporting injuries. I recently did the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) with my husband, a 2 day event and was thrilled with our placing of 77th out of 176 teams.

I was born in Plymouth and brought up in East Cornwall, trained as a physiotherapist in Birmingham and qualified in 1983. I worked in the NHS for 6 years as a rotational junior and senior physiotherapist and gained a wide range of experience across specialities including medicine, general surgery, neurosurgery, burns and plastics, intensive care, MSK and orthopaedics. I quite quickly realised I felt most comfortable in musculoskeletal physio and have continued to work in that field ever since.
I have continued to work for the past 25 years mainly in the private sector in the Berkshire area including 10 years in my own practice and have always had an interest in back and neck pain and occupational health. For the past 4 years before moving back to the West Country I worked at a private Hospital in Reading where a specialist shoulder unit is based and have now developed a more particular interest in shoulder problems.
Far more challenging than all of this has been bringing up my 3 sons who have all now "flown the nest" although I remain available as a taxi and clothes washer when needed!
I have now taken the decision to make the move back to my roots and hopefully a slightly quieter life, and most important of all to spend time with my dog!

I joined the Tavistock Physio Clinics team in 2013 after a career in veterinary nursing and veterinary financial administrative work. You will see me at the Lamerton reception desk and speak with me on the telephone. My role, along with my colleagues, is to help with the smooth running of the clinic, organising the appointments and working times for the physiotherapists, arranging the classes and basically much of what goes on behind the scenes.
I enjoy speaking with our patients and find my work rewarding as I follow the journey of a patient from first contact, when suffering from a painful condition, to seeing them improve after each visit.
When not at work I can be found enjoying the wonderful countryside and wildlife in this area with my horse, Ben and dog Charlie.

Hello, my name's Nicole and I joined Tavistock Physio Clinics as a receptionist in January 2024. I'm really enjoying working at the clinic and it's lovely working for a small business that cares for all their patients and the local community.
I've worked in office administration for approximately 22 years as well as having lots of experience in the retail and hospitality sector.
In my spare time I enjoy running and have been a member of Tavistock Athletics Club for 23 years and over the years I have competed in lots of running events, including marathons and half marathons. I regularly attend 5K Parkruns on a Saturday morning and local yoga classes.
I also sing with the Wheelhouse Folk Choir based in Tavistock, having never sung or performed before in my life! I have to say singing is completely joyful and fun and one of the best things I have ever done.
I love living in the Tavistock area, and often seen out and about walking my very handsome rescue dog called Humphrey!
